Getting Lobby Max running on your PlayStation or Xbox is quick and straightforward. No technical skills required — just follow these simple steps and you'll be in easier lobbies within minutes.
Before you start, make sure you have:
- A Lobby Max account (sign up takes 30 seconds)
- Your console connected to the internet
- About 2 minutes of your time
Step 1: Sign Up and Log In
Go to the Lobby Max signup page and create your free account. No credit card required — you get a full 3-day trial to test everything. Once you're in, log in to your dashboard.
Step 2: Activate Your Connection
In your Lobby Max dashboard, click the "Activate" button to register your home internet connection. This tells our system where to route your matchmaking traffic. The activation is instant — no waiting.
Step 3: Get Your DNS Settings
After activation, the dashboard will display your unique DNS settings. These are custom to your account. Copy them exactly as shown. You'll need a primary and secondary DNS address.
Step 4: Configure Your Console
Now for the actual console setup. The steps differ slightly between PlayStation and Xbox.
On PlayStation (PS4 / PS5):
- Go to Settings → Network → Set Up Internet Connection
- Select your connection type (Wi-Fi or LAN cable)
- Choose Custom setup
- Set IP Address to Automatic
- Set DHCP Host Name to Do Not Specify
- Set DNS to Manual
- Enter the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS from your dashboard
- Set MTU to Automatic
- Set Proxy Server to Do Not Use
- Test your connection — if everything is correct, you'll see "Internet Connection: Successful"
On Xbox (Series X|S / One):
- Press the Xbox button and go to Settings → General → Network Settings
- Select Advanced Settings
- Go to DNS Settings → Manual
- Enter the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS from your dashboard
- Press B to save and return to the previous menu
- Select Test NAT Type and Test Multiplayer Connection
- If both pass, you're all set
Pro tip: For best results, use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi. Ethernet is more stable and gives you lower ping. If you must use Wi-Fi, make sure your console is as close to your router as possible.
Step 5: Launch Call of Duty
Once your DNS is configured, launch Call of Duty (Warzone, Black Ops 6/7, or MW3). The changes take effect immediately — every match you search from now on will benefit from Lobby Max\'s SBMM bypass and optimized routing.
Testing Your Setup
Want to confirm Lobby Max is working? Here's how:
- Check your ping in-game: You should see stable, low ping. We tested this extensively and saw an average 26% improvement. If your ping is significantly higher than normal, double-check your DNS settings.
- Compare lobby difficulty: Play 5 games without Lobby Max, then 5 games with it. You should notice the lobbies feeling noticeably more casual.
- Use our Discord community: If something doesn't feel right, ask in our Discord. Other players and our support team can help troubleshoot.
Troubleshooting
Q: My console says "DNS error" after setup.
A: Double-check that you entered the DNS values exactly as shown in your dashboard. One wrong digit will break the connection.
Q: Can I switch between Lobby Max and normal connection?
A: Yes — just switch your DNS back to "Automatic" in your console settings when you want to play without Lobby Max. Switching takes about 30 seconds.
Q: Does Lobby Max work on PC too?
A: Yes! The setup is different (we configure it through the app), but a single Lobby Max account covers all your devices.
